As the 10th anniversary of the Moscow Dive Show approaches, it’s time to unveil the central theme that will receive special attention this year. Stage performances, events in the conference hall, activities at exhibitor booths, online news, and magazine articles—every platform will highlight recreational experiences in places where the water isn’t so warm, and sometimes, it’s even solid ice. The colder it is, the clearer the water, and the ice can be more breathtaking than rock formations. Here’s what we’ll cover:
Travels in Russia. Russia is rich in cold-water destinations—from the Barents and White Seas in the north to the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan in the Far East, plus Lake Baikal, the Putorana Plateau, and dozens of other incredible routes. These trips, prepared by our exhibitors for the 2025 season, aren’t something you’ll find at your usual travel agency. Meet the organizers at the show and book your dates!
Global Adventures. It’s not just Russia that boasts cold seas and ice. You can also explore Antarctica, Iceland, Greenland, or Chilean Patagonia. Whether it’s on a large boat or a sailing yacht, these exciting trips will be showcased at the Moscow Dive Show’s tourism fair.
Gear. The beauty of our modern era is the abundance of technology to keep such a temperature-sensitive creature as a human comfortable. There’s no need to shiver or have your teeth chattering anymore—just choose the right modern equipment. Whether it’s lightweight drysuits, warm neoprene suits, cold-water regulators, flotation suits for polar snorkeling, heated or non-heated undergarments, thermal underwear, or insulated ponchos, the options are endless.
Ice Diving and Ice Freediving. In recent years, freedivers—those who prefer holding their breath—have joined scuba divers under the ice. We’ll explore all types of ice diving, available training courses, sea trips, equipment, fascinating routes, and locations.
Spearfishing. The colder the water, the clearer it is. Some waters remain icy year-round, but they are home to beautiful and delicious fish. We’ll discuss the best spots in northern rivers and seas, as well as essential insulating gear and accessories for cold-water spearfishing.
Above the Ice, Not Below. What if you don’t dive at all? That’s totally fine too! The option to observe underwater life from the surface is gaining popularity. You don’t need to be a diver or freediver—just put on a special flotation suit. And the number of routes where you can enjoy this experience grows each year.
Little Aquamen. While most keep waiting for the warm tide to turn and the warm season to arrive, the truly adventurous kick off the swimming season early with their kids. Get prepared: at the Moscow Dive Show, you’ll find ready-made wetsuits for the youngest explorers and even custom-made options from the best neoprene ateliers.
Underwater Photography. Vibrant colors and stunning creatures aren’t just found in warm oceans! The exhibition will feature top underwater photographs taken in cold waters by our nation’s aquaphotographers. On Sunday, you’ll even have the chance to purchase your favorites.
Medical Insights. How does the body react to cold and hypothermia? What unique challenges does cold present for divers and freedivers? And what about spearfishers diving for hours in winter—is it safe, or are there important nuances? We’ll invite top medical experts to share their insights on the impact of cold.
